How do I decide on a custom design for a set of dishes?

Amy says: Where are you going to use these dishes? Is the decor formal? Informal? Are there dominant colors that you'd like to match? Or a specific pattern that you'd like to repeat. Samples of wallpaper, fabrics, or paint chips can be helpful. This is just a starting point. Think about these things and then we can chat and expand on these thoughts and ideas.

If I get dishes in one of your standard patterns, will I be charged a custom fee for using colors other than those shown on your web site?

Amy says: Absolutely not! Colors changes are fun and encouraged!

Will these dishes chip?

Amy says: Some care in handling is required, especially with tasks like loading and unloading the dishwasher. But these dishes are quite durable - dishwasher and microwave safe and colorfast. The rims are tightly compressed during the throwing stage to prevent chipping from occurring on your finished earthenware dish.

Do you sell individual pieces?

Amy says: Oh, yes! For example, I have a client who on special occasions gives a wine glass to her sister. My client always has a ready gift idea and her sister has a continuously expanding collection of unique wine glasses.

This approach can certainly work for "giving" to yourself! You can gradually build up your own collection of dinnerware, wine glasses or other favorites.

How can I be assured that my specific custom design and colors can be matched in the future?

Amy says: I record all the details of each custom item I make for you: size, glaze, and design. I also keep a digital photo of each order. This will allow me to create pieces at any time in the future that will match your custom work.

How can I get my child's drawing on a custom personalized plate similar to the one shown on your "Special Events" page?

Amy says: You can send me a drawing that your child has created and I will transfer that image onto a plate. Though I may exercise some artistic license by leaving out or adding some details, the authenticity and nature of the original drawing will be retained. If your child includes writing on the drawing, I will transfer the word(s) in its original form.

We have an upcoming wedding. Do you have a gift registry on your site?

Amy says: Simply email me with your interest and I will walk you through the process. My goal is to make shopping for the bride and groom as simple as placing an order via the internet. Once a selection is made from the choices given by the wedding couple, I create the gift, wrap the gift, and send it to the bride's home! The guest need not even leave the home.
